In this episode we are joined by Nicola Wilson, a Lead Clinical Educator at Great Ormond Street Hospital. We discuss the history of GOSH, the highs and lows of working in that environment, the importance of a hospital designed specifically for children, and the steps it is taking to be more sustainable. We are proud to have GOSH within the Borough of Camden and this episode highlights the amazing work being done by individuals such as Nicola and all the other doctors and nurses out there.
As a paediatric nurse Nicola has worked in several different hospitals principally within neurosciences. Over the last decade she has worked within education becoming a qualified teacher and enjoying the practical aspects of this role from facilitating learning alongside staff at the patient’s bedside to supporting a team of educators across the trust. She has a particular interest in using education to support quality improvement projects that will have a positive benefit on patient care, staff well-being and the environment.
